This is a shopping emergency! Today is the big day — the opening of Nordstrom Rack at North Point MarketCenter. I caught a preview of it this week and WOW — they have so many items and brands that I haven’t seen at other locations. OPENING DATE: April 19, 2012 at 9 a.m. (festivities begin earlier, see below).

LOCATION: 6200 N. Point Parkway, Alpharetta, GA 30022

OPENING DAY FESTIVITIES

GOLDEN HANGER:

Twenty golden hangers will be hidden throughout the new Nordstrom Rack at North Point MarketCenter. Customers who find the golden hangers can redeem them for $100 to spend inside the new store. (One hanger per customer). Be sure to follow them on Twitter @Alpharetta_Rack between 7-9 a.m. on opening morning to find clues!

RACE THROUGH THE RACK:

Race Through the Rack is a sweepstakes held before the opening. Customers can enter a drawing to win a 90-second, $2,000 shopping spree. The winner’s name is drawn and announced at 8:45 a.m. before the store opens at 9 a.m. (Must be present to win).

COMPLIMENTARY TOTE:

The first 1,000 customers who make a purchase at the new Nordstrom Rack at North Point MarketCenter will receive a complimentary Nordstrom Rack tote as a gift.

REFRESHMENTS AND MUSIC:

Opening day “Rally at the Rack” celebration is a way they thank customers for shopping with them. Complimentary breakfast and entertainment will be included.
