We always hear about getting the perfect beach body and what we need to do to be prepared for summer. But our homes need to be prepared too! Let the Sun In
When the rain’s pouring and it’s cold outside it can be great to shut the curtains and escape from the harsh weather conditions and the outside world. But once the summer arrives, you don’t want the outside to be blocked from view, you want the exact opposite! It should feel like summer indoors as well as outdoors.
To do this, you should think about whether it’s a good idea to replace your curtains with some that are lighter and thinner. It can be a good idea to have two sets of curtains, one for summer and the other for winter. Or you could use blinds instead, they can block out the light completely or let it all in so are a great option.
Join the Outside and the Inside Fingers crossed, we’ll all be spending a lot of time outside this summer rather than being shut away indoors. But you need to have somewhere to sit and entertain if you’re going to spend time in your garden during the summer. Start by finding some furniture like a simple table and chairs.
Then you can think about creating a decking area. This is a good idea because it creates a connection between the back of your house and the start of your garden. You’ll be able to easily cook food in the kitchen and then eat it at your table on your new decking area!
Get Rid of Winter Comforts We all like to snuggle up on the sofa and get warm when it’s cold outside, but you don’t want your winter comfort items to be still lingering in your home when it’s summer. If you haven’t already, you should gather together all your blankets, extra pillows and huge jumpers and put them away until the end of the year!
The same is true in your bedroom as well. If you have a huge duvet cover on your bed, you might want to replace. Nobody likes the feeling of being kept awake at night due to the heat. Buy some Martex sheets instead, they’re light and thin so won’t make you too hot.
Prepare for the Heat
Everybody loves the summer. After a long bleak winter and an unimpressive spring, the arrival of the summer sun is usually a great relief. But there are some factors that come with summer that you need to prepare your home for such as the extreme heat that you might experience.

Summer is virtually here, so you need to make these easy changes quickly to get make sure your home is ready.
