Several Georgia State Parks and Lodges are hosting special Halloween events, read on to find out more!
Lake Blackshear Resort and Golf Club:
o The Dark Forest Haunted Trail at Georgia Veterans State Park is a frightening adventure which takes children and adults into the South Georgia woods. The trail layout and scenes feature spooky sights and interactive disturbances that make for a fright unlike any other! The Dark Forest Haunted Trail opens at nightfall (approx. 7:30 p.m.) until 10:00 p.m. on October 14-15, 21-22 and 28-29. Admission is $8 per person ($5 with a valid student ID).
o The ‘Crisp’ Days of Fall Festival is a fun event for the family! Enjoy autumn’s brisk weather and colorful leaves with the Piles of Smiles Hayride, pumpkin decorating, arts and crafts, and games galore! Piles of Smiles Hayride and Pumpkin Decorating runs on October 14-15, 21-22, 28-29 & 31 from 5:30p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Admission is $3 per person which covers all activities at the park’s Visitors Center.
Little Ocmulgee State Park and Lodge:
o Little O’s Fright Nights in Helena, GA feature The Haunted Cabin, a scary adventure for those willing to risk it all and face their fears! The Haunted Cabin opens on October 28th and 29th from dark until 11 p.m. Admission is $5 per person and all children must be accompanied by an adult.
o Movie Under the Stars at Little O is perfect for children of all ages! With concessions available for those eager for treats, it’s sure to be fun for all. Halloween movies are being shown on October 28th and a $5 park pass per vehicle is required for entry.
Amicalola Falls State Park and Lodge:
o Trick-or-Treat at one of Georgia’s most beautiful natural wonders! Head out to Amicalola Falls State Park and Lodge and trick or treat along ta paved trail that leads from the Main Lodge to the Falls. Trick-or-treating takes places on Halloween before sundown!
Brasstown Valley Resort and Spa:
o Halloween at the Stables at Brasstown Valley Resort is sure to be a wild ride for kids of all ages! Visit the barn where guests will find horses and ponies in full costume, ready for a Halloween ride. Once guests hop off their horse, they can venture out on a haunted hike or joyful hayride. With a fully decorated spooky barn, trick-or-treating and marshmallow roasting, everyone is sure to have a memorable evening! Halloween at the Stables will take place on Saturday, October 29 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A $5 fee for adults and $3 fee per child under 14 will be applied on location.
