Vaping can quickly become expensive. It’s easy to get caught up buying luxury e-liquids, all the extra mods and tanks just to start over again with a new e-cig loaded with new tech. However, here’s five tips where you can save money vaping without having to change your habits.
Don’t buy disposable e-cigs
The one-use e-cigs found in drug stores and gas stations may seem like a bargain, but as the name suggests, it’s not long at all before you have to throw them out, as they can’t be refilled or recharged. Some varieties only last a few days – not much of a bargain when you think about the long term! Ditch the disposables and invest in a reusable e-cig. It’ll pay for itself before you know it.
Buy online
More specialty stores are starting to stock e-liquids, which is great if you need something at short notice, but if you don’t mind waiting, then it’s a great idea to look online for deals and bargains, as these stores often have huge markups on their product. Many e-liquid providers often have sales, with prices far below what’s found in regular brick-and-mortar stores, and some, like online supplier Auster, also offer free shipping, which will save you even more money.
Buy full mod kits
Instead of buying individual parts, save time and cash by buying a full mod kit. A kit will give you a mod, a tank or tripper, batteries, a charger and sometimes even some free e-liquid, at a much lower price than buying parts one by one. It also means you’ll get parts that are compatible with each other.
Learn to build your own coils
It sounds time-consuming, but you can save money in the long run. Instead of buying pre-built cartridges, sit down with a spool of wire and a coil building tutorial on YouTube. It’s simple to start – all you have to do is wrap coils and insert cotton in between. When you master the basics, you can change up how tightly you wrap the wires and adjust vapor production and flavour to tailor your vape to your own preferences. A spool of wire lasts far longer than packs of ready-made cartridges at less than a quarter of the price.
Bulk-buy your e-liquid
Another money-saver is looking at large bottles (that’s over 120mL) of e-liquid, which is far cheaper per millilitre and is guaranteed to go the distance. After you’ve been vaping for a while, you’ll become familiar with what brands and flavors you like, and it’s worth making the ‘investment’ in a large bottle if you know what you’re exactly going to get.
Be on the lookout for giveaways
It sounds like a long shot, but when it comes to vaping, nearly all the marketing and promotional work is done online. This means that there’s always giveaways floating around on social media or websites. Follow stores that stock brands and flavors you like on Twitter and Facebook, sign up for email newsletters, and keep an eye out for chances to win.
