Each year as the winter months slowly drag on, spring break starts to sound better and better. By late January girls everywhere are planning where they will be going and beginning to think about what they will wear on the beach and at all those clubs they’ll hit while away from all the drudgeries of studies. Just don’t make the same mistake you did last year and leave the packing until the last minute. Start getting ready for Spring Break 2016 by looking at some must have fashions you simply can’t leave home without.
What to Wear to the Beach
Depending how long you’ll be away, make sure to pack enough swim suits for the entire time. It is recommended that you bring at least three and don’t forget to bring along a few pairs of sandals and flip flops. Of course you’ll want to bring along a beach towel or two and if you are fair skinned with little to no tan left from last year, you may want to consider bringing along a wide brimmed hat to keep those dangerous UV rays off that beautiful face. Some days you might not want to actually spend time tanning or taking a dip so pack a few tank tops and shorts for your walk along those lovely warm sands. Also, don’t forget to toss in a couple of loose summer dresses or cover-ups you can wear over your suit. That should about do it for the must-have women’s fashions for the beach so now let’s take a look at what you’ll need to carry along for all the extra places you might be heading when not out having a bit of fun in the sun.
Basic Apparel to Carry Along
One thing you might want to think about this year is how to bring fewer items by packing separates that you can mix and match. Here are a few suggestions of what to start shopping for, and of course packing so you are ready to hit the road when that magic moment arrives:
2 to 3 T-shirts or tanks
2 to 3 ‘dressier’ tops
3 to 4 pairs of shorts
2 to 3 dress bottoms (skirts or pants)
At least 2 pairs of jeans
2 pairs of dress shoes for clubbing
1 pair of sports shoes (Nikes, Adidas, etc.)
Leggings and sweats
At least 2 to 3 outfits suitable for clubbing
That’s just a basic list you should start with. Don’t forget you’ll most likely be shopping at all those trendy little boutiques along the shore so you’ll end up bringing home double what you packed! These are just must have fashions to take along for starters.
Odds & Ends
Of course you’ll need to pack some comfy PJs to sleep in. Make sure to check the weather where you’ll be going because some beaches are hot in the day and a bit on the cool side overnight. Not all beaches are subtropical so you’ll need to make sure to stay nice and warm in the evenings. You will also want to make sure that you have:
Your makeup bag
Blow dryer, curling iron, straightener
Combs, brushes, head bands, hair ties
Toiletries (don’t forget your favorite fragrances!)
Sunscreen
Bras and underwear
You’ll also want to bring along a nice beach bag which you may want to use as your carry-on if you are flying. Use this as your overnight bag if you intend to spend any time wandering off from the hotel you’ve booked for your entire stay. Who knows where you’ll end up on any given evening so you’ll want to be prepared for whatever little ‘side trip’ comes your way.
A Few Words of Advice
As mentioned, you probably will do a bit of shopping so don’t over pack. However, make sure to bring along at least a few of the items you’ll be likely to wear but remember that most airlines, trains and even buses now charge varying fees for extra bags so coming home again with lots of ‘plunder’ might cost you. Wouldn’t you rather spend that money having fun than tugging home excess luggage you have Spring break only happens once a year so make the most of it this year. Start planning what you’ll bring early enough to make any last minute changes if you find that one pair of shoes you just can’t resist. You’ve waited for this an entire year so make sure to plan well in advance so as not to forget a single thing. Have fun and stay safe on your long awaited Spring Break 2016.
